About the escape room

"Madness" is an adventure thriller for intermediate groups. A modern escape room, set in a film set design and story-based on facts. 90 minutes filled with adrenaline-pumping fun and a unique adventure! More than forty years have passed since the events that shook the entire Auntville... The psychiatric hospital on the outskirts of the city was suddenly evacuated within three hours. The state police ordered the immediate evacuation of all staff and patients, and on the same day ordered to brick up all windows and entrances. However, the head doctor and Emily Jones, a twenty-year-old girl – the doctor's daughter and his long-term patient, who had been in the closed ward for years - were never found. After forty-five years, you are the first ones to decide to enter the psychiatric hospital in Auntville on your own initiative and clarify its biggest mystery...

Overview of artificial intelligence

AIThe atmosphere and set design carry it, with a moderate fear level—more thriller than horror. Puzzles are varied and strongly co-op-focused, sometimes a tad thematically random. The story can be unclear, and in the second half some feel it drifts from the hospital vibe. There are minor technical hiccups, and GM communication is via walkie-talkie instead of in-room mics.
WeaknessesAfter the start, the narrative can fade into the background, and the endgame theme doesn't always tie back to the beginning. There are isolated issues like a sensor glitch or language reset, and no microphones in the room. Some puzzles may feel dropped in and not entirely in-theme.
StrengthsGreat vibe, polished effects, and space that impresses. Smooth flow and lots of cooperation that keeps the team in a "together" mode. Staff are helpful and friendly.
SecurityStandard safe; when something doesn't work, staff respond. No microphones inside, so contact is via walkie-talkie.
Level of fearLightly scary: dim lighting, gentle jump scares, without heavy horror weight. Manageable for the sensitive; no data from the creators regarding children.
Actors' gameSeveral teams played without an actor and preferred it, as it's easier to focus on puzzles. One opinion even sees no point in an actor's role in this format.
Quality of riddlesFair puzzles, varied and often requiring teamwork, with difficulty from medium to a bit above. Rather little searching, more logical linking of elements and effects. Occasionally there are minor technical issues and puzzles slightly detached from the plot.
PlotThe opening clearly outlines the hospital mystery, but later the storyline can blur amid the action. The mood remains, though the finale doesn't keep the same thematic throughline for everyone.
Difficulty levelAimed at intermediate teams; solo aces without strong cooperation may struggle. The 90-minute runtime gives breathing room, but the puzzles can still press.

It’s scary in a safe way: darker, a few light jump scares, but not over the top. Great start with cooperative tasks and cool effects. We ran into a language reset and a sensor error; we thought the GM couldn’t hear us, but it turned out we had to call over the walkie-talkie. The story wasn’t entirely clear to me, but I’m still very glad we played.

We loved the room from the very first minutes. The game masters were super friendly; we played without an actor, so we could focus on the puzzles and we weren’t so scared that it clouded our thinking. The set design is impressive and the atmosphere is intense. Definitely worth going!

At the start, great teamwork and cool lighting effects. We had a minor hiccup with a sensor, but the GM fixed it quickly over the walkie-talkie. I had a lot of fun.

The beginning evokes unease, but the atmosphere is pleasantly spooky. The rooms are sensibly arranged, free of chaos, and just when you think it’s the finale, another door appears and the ride goes on.

A great, atmospheric game and a lot of fun, though a few elements could use an update. Despite that, we had a fantastic time and left satisfied.
